![]() When the middle school teachers taking her courses wanted copies of her suggested lesson plans, she worked with co-author, Joanne Smith, to design a middle school chemistry curriculum now known as Synergized Middle School Chemistry. In this role, she focused on the physical science standards related to She played a major role in writing, interpreting and implementing the Colorado State Science Standards.Īfter retiring from the district, Sharon worked part-time for ten years at the University of Colorado at Denver teaching courses targeting the implementation of the science standards at the middle school level. For 10 years, she was the district’s K-12 Science Coordinator. Over her years in Colorado, she worked as a middle and high school teacher in a large schoolĭistrict north of Denver. At the U of I, she earned a bachelor’s and master’s in The Teaching of Biology and General Science and a doctorate in Education. Prior to that, she lived in Illinois where she was born and attended The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. ![]() Sharon has resided in Louisville, Colorado, (just outside of Boulder) for 35 years.
